ANDY & THE CHUCKY CONTESTS

• When Andy Mangels was working on Child's Play, the producers wanted to run a contest for fans to win some of the Good Guys boxes used as props in the film. There were three types of boxes:
• #1 was an empty box which a real doll would be put in for close-ups.
• #2 was a box with a molded plastic three-dimensional insert that made it appear as if a 3-D doll was inside. These were used for medium shots.
• #3 was a box which had a photo of a doll on the front. These were used as long shots.
• The producers presented Mangels with one of the #2 boxes. Other #2 and #3 boxes were given out as contest prizes!
• Another contest which Innovation ran allowed a fan to appear in the Child's Play comic itself! Issue #5 featured the "Stuck on Chuck" contest winner, plus several of his friends!

ANDY GUEST-STARS!

• Andy Mangels guest-stars in several issues of the Child's Play comic. He's on the cover of issue #1 of Child's Play 2, being electrocuted. In the interiors, he is the technician that accidentally brings Chucky back to life, while artist Daerick Robertson is the other technician!
• Andy made a second appearance in Child's Play 3 #2-3 as a garbage collector who is crushed to death by Chucky in his truck!

SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON 1991

• Justin Whalin, the star of Child's Play 3, attended the 1991 San Diego Comic-Con and signed autographs at the Innovation Comics booth with Andy. Several stars of Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare also signed with them including Lezlie Deane, Ricky Dean Logan, and Breckin Meyer.
• Justin Whalin also posed with the style #2 Chucky prop box, and with Child's Play comic artist Brandon McKinney.
